Born and raised in sunny Manchester, I studied at the Manchester Grammar School and graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2.1 BSc (Hons) in Economics. I was on the graduate scheme at Rolls-Royce Plc, prior to entering the recruitment world.
Fun fact: I’m a 6 ft 3 vegetarian, who doesn’t like vegetables.
I typically work with candidates on an exclusive basis, with an emphasis on face to face meetings and quality of recruitment consultancy, over quantity of candidates.
Happy to speak/meet at convenient hours:Â before 8am and after 6.30pm!
Background
2005-12:
Studied at the Manchester Grammar School
2015:
Graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2.1 BSc (Hons) in Economics.
On graduation, I secured the only graduate position within the Commercial Purchasing department at Rolls-Royce Plc. This was my first exposure to the world of Commercial Contracts & IP law!
2016:
Whilst reading about James Caan’s ventures in the recruitment field, I also came to realise that I enjoyed interacting with Rolls-Royce’s in-house lawyers more than drafting and reviewing 40-page supplier contracts…
2017:
Having built up a strong referral network and client-base through successfully assisting candidates, from NQ, through to Associate and Partner-level, we decided the time was right to launch Aurelius Legal; a wholly independently-owned recruitment consultancy.
Legal recruitment focus
Solicitors of all levels into commercial and private client legal disciplines (contentious and non-contentious)
We take pride in finding the right firm for each candidate and supporting them through the process (from the 1st interview, through to handling salary-negotiations, guiding them through the resignation conversation, and not disappearing off the face of the earth once they’ve started their new role like a mere transaction!)…
In contrast to simply “spraying and praying” with multiple CVs in blatant mass-mailers and playing the recruitment lottery to see what lands(!)
We don’t operate on a long list of arbitrary ‘KPIs’ to hit a ‘monthly target’ – we focus on assisting with long-term, meaningful career-moves, as opposed to treating our candidates as just a means to an end.
This ensures a consistent level of quality is maintained; meeting with each candidate in person to understand their needs, experience and disposition, so we can represent them with credibility and accuracy to our law firm clients = a win/win outcome for all parties!
